The Northwest Naturals mission is to provide pet-lovers the option of feeding their pets a health-enhancing, life-prolonging and easy-to-feed food. Our products are carefully formulated based upon the most advanced science and principles of raw food diet preparation. We believe in the premise that BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) improves the quality of life for pets. Our mission is to play an active role in the development of healthy companions, regardless of size or activity level.

The Northwest Naturals Story:
Northwest Naturals is proudly owned by Morasch Meats in Portland, Oregon. Morasch Meats has been a family run business since 1956, specializing in meat processing products for restaurants, grocery stores, and independent retailers. The Morasch Meats facility officially became a USDA inspected and certified facility in 1980, and soon after they were asked to produce a private-label pet food under the strict guideline of a USDA facility. For the past 20 years, Morasch Meats has been a leader in developing unique and high quality products for the pet industry. In addition to the 85,000 square foot primary facility, Morasch Meats proudly acquired an additional 90,000 square foot facility where High Pressure Processing and Freeze Drying for both human and pet products takes place. Morasch Meats has been on the cutting edge of advanced food processing technologies and will continue to be so well into the future.
In 2004, Morasch Meats founded Northwest Naturals as their own brand of raw frozen pet food. We are fortunate to benefit from the knowledge and trusted techniques of Morasch Meats to ensure the highest quality of products for you and your pets.
Green Sustainable Manufacturing
The Pacific Northwest is one of the most naturally beautiful parts of our country and we want to keep it that way. Morasch Meats, now 5 generations in to their family owned business, has been at the forefront of environmentally friendly development within their community and the food processing industry since the business was founded in 1956. Morasch Meats was the first USDA meat manufacturing facility to produce raw frozen pet food under the same USDA guidelines set for human food. Northwest Naturals was proudly created under the name of Morasch Meats, and here going green is not just a saying, it is the way we do business. Northwest Naturals is a company which respects the earth, nature and has a vision for the future. Customers can be assured their pets are very important to us, and Northwest Naturals provides the highest quality, most convenient and best value raw frozen pet food products using green environmentally friendly process controls.
Northwest Naturals’ Recycling Program
- 85% recovery for corrugated, office supplies, metals and plastics
- We compact and recycle approximately 36.5 tons of materials (73,000 lbs./month or 876,000 lbs. recycled/year)
- 100% Recycled Lubricant Program waste lubricants and hydraulic/petroleum’s are burned in a custom heating system for our maintenance shop
- We have our own maintenance shop for recovery and R&D
- We offer employee incentives to reduce & reuse
